Editor's Plate: End-of-Year Food & Beverage Issues

Nov. 6, 2024
Elections, outlooks, surveys and other 2024 loose ends.

By the time you read this, the Presidential election will be over – hopefully the results will be apparent by now (maybe not!). But we'll still be a month or two away from the new administration taking over – peacefully, lawfully! Then begins the gradual reveal of how the new leader will impact the food & beverage industry.

Whether we'll be talking about Kamala Harris' promises to crack down on price gouging and raise the minimum wage or Donald Trump's business tax cuts and high tariffs, we'll get into the winner's plans and likely impact on the food & beverage industry in our January issue – which will also have outlook stories on flavor and ingredient trends for the new year and food safety/regulatory.

This is also a reminder that we will not publish this magazine in December, although we'll still be busy filling our slice of the internet with fresh content. From daily news stories (which also appear in our daily newsletter – you should subscribe!) to long-from features to expert commentary, there's new content posted on a daily basis.

Every morning, go to www.FoodProcessing.com; better still, bookmark it. And for our daily newsletter, sign up at:

Take our Manufacturing Survey now, please

Another "reveal" in January will be the results from our 24th annual Manufacturing Outlook Survey – but only if you help us out now.

Is your company or plant planning for more or less production next year? More or less staffing? How is digital technology affecting your plant? Using any AI? In general, how optimistic do you feel about 2025? We'll compare this year's results to those of previous years.

We want to share the entire food & beverage industry's collective wisdom on those subjects with you, but we can’t do it without your input first. So please take 5 minutes (that's about all it should take) and fill out the survey. While all your answers will be confidential, if you do give us your name and email, we'll enter you in a drawing for four $50 Amazon gift cards. Take the survey at:
